Pakistan cricket coach Mickey Arthur said his team was “off the par” in their loss to the West Indies in the 3rd T20 International at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 137/8 from their 20 overs. Kamran Akmal top scored with 48 followed by Babar Azam with 43. Samuel Badree was the best bowler for the West Indies taking 2/22.
But the West Indies innings turned into the Evin Lewis show. Twice run out in the previous matches for scores less than 10, Lewis set about to rectify his runs shortage. He took a particular liking to Sohail Tanvir and the dangerous newbie Shadab Khan.
Lewis blasted his way to a Man of the Match 91, falling to Khan with 4 more runs needed for victory. Lendl Simmons strode helmetless to the crease and struck a straight drive to the Media Centre End to finish off the match.
Pakistan still lead the series 2-1, with the fourth and final match of the T20 series on Sunday 2nd April, at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
